ArminArmin Premium: terms of sale
Effective 21 October 2026 ยท Applies to the Armin for Canvas Chrome extension, version 1.0 and later
These terms cover Armin Premium, the optional paid tier of the Armin for Canvas Chrome extension ("Armin"). They are between you and Alfred Liu, who makes and runs Armin ("we"). Everything else in Armin is free and does not need these terms. By buying Premium you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't buy Premium; the free features keep working.
1. What Premium is
Premium makes Armin's AI study tools unlimited for as long as it runs: flashcards and practice questions from your course files, practice exams, notes for every lecture and textbook chapter, aid sheets, deep explanations and "Ask my course". Everything that is free without Premium stays free. Premium needs a free Armin account (sign in from the Armin button in Chrome's toolbar).
2. Plans and prices
Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies.

The Term Pass is the same length at every school: 4 months covers a full term with its exams, whenever your school's term starts and ends. Buying a plan while Premium is already on never shortens it: Premium runs to whichever end date is later (an Exam Sprint adds its 14 days to the end you already have).
3. Who sells it, and payment
Premium is sold by Armin, through Stripe. You pay Armin, not Google, not Instructure and not your school. You type your card details on Stripe's own checkout page; Armin never sees them. A Monthly plan is charged on the same date each month until you cancel.
4. Cancelling and refunds
- Refund of a first purchase within 7 days: a full refund, no questions asked. Open the Armin button in Chrome's toolbar and press Refund my purchase. Premium ends when the refund goes through.
- Cancelling Monthly: cancel any time from the Armin button. You keep Premium to the end of the month you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Later refunds: write to alfredliu9@gmail.com. We look at each case fairly and may refund part of the price.
- Nothing in these terms takes away a right to a refund you have under the consumer protection law where you live.
5. Fair use of the AI tools
Premium has no monthly allowances to run out. To keep it unlimited for every student, a fair-use guard stops abuse only: scripts, automated use, an account shared between people, or a volume no one studying could use. If a day's use goes far past what a student studying hard uses, the tools pause until the next day (in an extreme case, until the 1st of the month). We may suspend Premium for clear abuse and will tell you why.
6. Practice exams and AI answers
Practice exams, flashcards, notes and answers are written by AI (Anthropic's Claude) from the course files you choose. They are study aids. They are not your instructor's exam, they do not predict what will be on a test, and they can be wrong. Check anything important against your course materials. Follow your course's and your school's rules on using AI.
7. Always check your school's Canvas
Due dates, grades, class times and course details that Armin shows come from your school's Canvas and other sites, and can be out of date or read wrongly. Always check your school's Canvas (and your instructor) for what counts. Premium does not change this.
8. No warranty
Armin and Premium are provided as is. We work to keep them running and correct, but we don't promise they will always be available, complete or free of errors, or that a site Armin reads will keep working with it. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for Premium is limited to what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Not affiliated
Armin is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by Instructure (the maker of Canvas), any school, Gradescope, Wiley, Macmillan Learning, Anthropic, Stripe or Google. Canvas is a trademark of Instructure, Inc.
10. Changes, and the law that applies
If we change these terms, the new version applies to purchases made after it is posted on this page; a plan you have already bought keeps the terms it was sold under. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
